Bienvenue à mon blog!

"Bonjour. Je m'appelle Gina. J'ai vingt et un ans et je vais à Paris dans deux semaines!"

Yup, that's right, it's French. You know it all starts with a "bonjour" to get me going to- you guessed it- Paris France! The countdown clock's ticking away with 14 days and 27 minutes until I jump the border into a flaky pastry world of adventures (but who's counting ;-) ) In preparation of leaving the country of my citizenship, all my friends, family, and loved ones and the only way of living I've ever known, I set up this blog so we can stay in touch and I can keep everyone updated on my adventures in a world full of French speaking, fine dining, and flaky pastries (hence the title of this blog).

As the time for me to leave draws near and I realize that my days in the English-speaking, fast-food eating, sweatpants-wearing United States are numbered, the questions start piling up. What in the world makes me think I can just up and move to another country and start a new life there? Am I doing the right thing? What if I mistake and don't realize it and then the French AND American governments come after me and take me away and then send the family I'm living with to jail for harboring an international criminal? Then, as my friend Gilles reminded me, I shall remember the words God spoke to Joshua before entering the Promised Land: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

At least I'm praying so.

  2. Oh no! I think you are on to something here! Gina of Allentown, abducted by Paris! There will most likely be a huge and terrible war over this!

You will be remembered as having "the face that launched a thousand nukes."

I pray that I am wrong, but maybe you should reconsider all of this for a minute... this could be the start of World War 3 or Armageddon!

Hahaha, I think I got carried away... I do pray for you safe journey. I hope you don't forget about this blog either. I look forward to hearing about your life overseas and it may have historical significance one day when people start asking "Who was this Gina of Allentown?"

  3. A word for you Angel, Psalm 121 "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip. He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you...The Lord will keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." How we love you <3

  5. Hi Gina Ballerina:

    Safely there, excellent!

Life is full of choices. You have decided to live your dream. Yahoo-good for you! Is it the "right decision" or the "wrong decision"? Only after you make the decision will you know for sure. But not to concern yourself, in every decison -right or wrong- there are lessons to learn that shape your future.
And from where I am sitting, your future is so bright it is burning my eyes.
    Love ya, Ms. Lee
